Abstract (EN)

This thesis studies Hasan Akay's life, methods and techniques of his literary and academic work. It discusses his poetry in detail and analyzes his artistic style in depth. First chapter explains Hasan Akay's life. In addition to his biographies, the thesis uses an interview with him and details his family, childhood, education and work life in subsections. "Works" section accounts his literary and academic work in separate subsections. In the first subsection "Poetry" lists his poems that are not in his books but were published in anthologies besides nine poetry books of Akay. "Essays" section lays out the colophons and content of his three essays. "Academic Work" section explains Akay's academic methods. Here, Akay adopts structural, deconstructive, holographical, astrophysical, holistic, and text-based approaches. His academic work are studied under "Text Analysis/ Interpretation", "Literature Research/ Review", "Model/Theory Books", "Anthologies, Dictionaries" subsections. The thesis gives the colophons of his national and international presentations and papers, romanization work, articles in other books and translations. Afterwards, it lists the master's and PhD theses that he advised. Second section of the thesis studies the position and importance of Akay's poems in Turkish poetry. After a general overview of mystical and metaphysical Turkish poetry before and during Akay's era, the thesis analyzes the effect of Sezai Karakoç style on Akay's poetry. Third section first examines the structure of Akay's poems. It investigates his poems' form and style and studies the humanitarian, societal, natural and conceptual themes in his poetry. Same section includes "Shift and Evolution of Akay's Poetry" subsection. Here, his poetry is divided into three eras. The thesis analyzes his mystical orientation, especially under Sezai Karakoç's influence, and how his initial poems gain an authentic narrative and technique in time.
