The concepts of disappearence, escape, and search in the context of postmodernism in Hasan Ali Toptaş's novels

Hasan Ali Toptaş, as a witness of the Postmodern Age, won many awards for his impressive and gripping narration and his mastery of language and contributed to Turkish literature with his works in which he reflected the characteristics of postmodernism. There are eight works of the author in the novel genre, and as we delve deeper into these works, uncertainty increases with the reflection of the characteristics of postmodernism, and the concepts of search, escape and disappearance in these uncertainties evoke different meanings in each reader in a way that is open to interpretation. In this study, the concepts of disappearance, escape, and search in the author's novels titled Sonsuzluğa Nokta, Gölgesizler, Bin Hüzünlü Haz, Kayıp Hayaller Kitabı, Uykuların Doğusu, Heba, Kuşlar Yasına Gider, Beni Kör Kuyularda have been explained by focusing on postmodernism through different semantic features. Our thesis titled "The Concepts of Disappearance, Escape, Search in the Context of Postmodernism in Hasan Ali Toptaş's Novels" consists of three chapters: "Chapter One: Search, Escape, Disappearance" "Chapter Two: Postmodernism" and "Chapter Three: The Concepts of Search, Escape, and Disappearance in Hasan Ali Toptaş's Novels". In the introduction part of our study, the general characteristics of postmodernism, postmodern novel, and Hasan Ali Toptaş's literary personality have been presented. In the first chapter, the general characteristics of search, escape, and disappearance concepts have been discussed and explained. Furthermore, in this section, the scientists and thinkers who conducted research in the fields of philosophy, psychology, and science have been taken into consideration and the information on how these concepts were handled in these fields has been given. In the second part, the general characteristics of postmodernism have been explained, and the structural features of postmodern novels and the elements of postmodern novels have been discussed and explained under separate headings. In the third chapter, the author's novels have been introduced and the concepts of search, escape and disappearance in the author's novels have been explained in connection with the characteristics of postmodernism and by abiding by the contents of the novels. In the conclusion part, the concepts of search, escape and disappearance in Hasan Ali Toptaş's eight novels and the general characteristics and elements of postmodernism that we have identified in the author's novels are discussed.
