To examine Hasan Latif Sariyuce's Anatolian tales from the point of educational values

Tales, which are important types of oral literature, have contributions to the life of the individual and society in various aspects. Significant benefits can be achieved by reading or by having children read the tales whose target group is a child. Tales, seen as a good educational tool, can help children learn their native language, use words properly and enrich their vocabulary. In the tales, there is a strong sense of connection between the fictional world presented to the child and the real world. This can provide the child having an idea about the realities of life by making sense of the emotions, thoughts and messages transmitted by the heroes. In every tale that is read or having read, the child can havesenses the values of favour, righteousness, honesty, justice, love, compassion, diligence, self-confidence, respect, patience, etc. and internalizes it. The raising of children having these values and to be able to transform these values into behaviour is extremely important. By gaining these values, children build the foundation of a healthy society. By transferring these values they have, to the next generations, they ensure social continuity. Societies need transfering of values and their addaption by individuals or education of values in order to sustain their existence and support the development of the individuals they contain. The most important role in transferring these values to the individuals in the society belongs to tales. These tales that children read or listen to with pleasure, affect their characters greatly. In this study, Hasan Latif SARIYÜCE's work named " Anatolian Tales " has been examined. The contributions of transferring values of the tales in the Anatolian tales in and the messages given through the values in these tales were contradictory to be determined. The conributions of the tales took place in the work of Anatolian Tales, by transferring the values, and the messages given by the values in these tales have been tried to be determined. For this purpose, 60 tales in Anatolian tales have been examined and 72 values have been determined. The texts have been analyzed by document analysis method and the values determined have been collected under the headings, because the work of '' Anadolu Tales '' by Sarıyüce, forms the main data of this study. As a result, it has been proved that these fairy tales have a rich content with regard to values and messages given through values. For this purpose, it has been thought that it would be appropriate to be used for the education of values.
