Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to determine the attitudes and opinions of 322 nurses working in health institutions affiliated to secondary and tertiary care hospitals in İzmir. In this study, the nurses evaluated whether patient confidentiality was applied in the hospitals or not. Data were collected using a face-to-face survey technique between october 2015-december 2015. Duplication collected using a face-to-face survey technique in the study. Personal Information Form (Socio-Demographic Characteristics) and Patient Privacy Scale developed by the researcher were used to gather data in the study. 28 items of the 37 evaluation scales consist of health facility, 8 items of nurse applications, 1 open-ended questionnaire and 2 sub-dimensions. The data of the study were statistically evaluated in the SPSS 20.0 package program. In the analysis of the data, frequency and percentage analysis, KMO and Bartlett tests and ki-square test were used. According to the findings of the study, it was seen that the nurses generally have information about patient confidentiality and use this information in practice. However, it has been determined that nurses have different views on some aspects of patient rights. When the nurse attitudes and opinions differ according to the demographic characteristics, it was determined that attitudes and opinions differ according to the education status, title, occupational year of the nurses.
