Özet (EN)

Klebsiella pneumoniae is a pathogen that causes nosocomial infections and can produce extended spectrum beta-lactamase. The faster the diagnosis of K. pneumoniae can be made using molecular techniques, the faster the results will be obtained and the damage caused by this bacterium will be prevented. In this study, it was aimed to reveal the biochemical and molecular diagnosis of K. pneumoniae isolates from clinical samples of respiratory tract taken from patients in Al-anbar Women's and Children's Practice and Research Hospital in Iraq. In this study, the molecular diagnosis of K. pneumoniae from samples taken from the respiratory tract of patients was aimed. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method was applied. Specific primers targeting 16S rDNA and rmpA genes were designed for pathogen detection. Specially designed primers and a probe were used. An analysis sensitive enough to detect 2pg/µl K. pnemouniae genome was performed by PCR-ELISA method. The PCR-ELISA provided significant time savings compared to the traditional biochemical identification of K. pneumoniae.
