Evaluation of the knowledge level of pre-hospital health personnel about prone cardio-pulmonary resusitation

INTRODUCTİON: Prone CPR's importance has increased with the recent COVID-19 pandemic. It is a prominent form of intervention in the management of arrest in patients followed in the prone position or in patients with arrest in the prone position. It is important that the pre-hospital health care personnel who work in the inter-hospital transfer of these patients and in the scene intervention should be especially knowledgeable about this issue. In this study, we aimed to determine the level of knowledge of pre-hospital health personnel on this subject. MATERIAL AND METHOD: Our study is a survey study aimed at the participation of pre-hospital health personnel who brought patients to Ankara City Hospital between 1-31 July 2022. A total of 31 questions were directed to the participants, 25 of which questioned demographic information and educational status, and 6 of which measured theoretical knowledge. The analysis of the data was carried out in IBM SPSS 16.0 for Windows program and the significance value was accepted as p <0.05. RESULTS: A total of 99 pre-hospital health personnel participated in the study. When the answers given were examined, it was seen that the majority of the participants had not received training on Prone CPR and had not performed prone CPR before. CONCLUSION: It was determined that the pre-hospital health personnel did not have sufficient knowledge about prone CPR. It should be considered in the in-service training programs of pre-hospital health personnel who are likely to encounter prone CPR. KEYWORDS: Prone CPR, Reverse CPR, Prehospital
