The impact of hospital supplier integration on performance and regulatory role of lean practices

Although the effect of supplier integration on organisational performance is a subject that has been studied in the manufacturing sector for a long time in the literature, fewer studies have been carried out on this subject, especially in the service sector, especially in the context of health services. In this study, it was aimed to develop a conceptual model for hospital supplier integration in general and to determine the effect of hospital supplier integration on hospital performance. In addition, in this study, it was investigated whether lean practises were a regulatory game in the effect of hospital supplier integration on hospital performance. In this context, data were collected through a survey from senior managers working in public, private and university hospitals operating in Turkey. The obtained data were analysed using the Structural Equation Model (SEM). As a result of the analysis; It was determined that trust, logistics integration and senior management support from the hospital supplier integration criteria positively affect the cost, quality and flexibility performances of hospitals, information sharing affects the quality and flexibility performances of hospitals, and information technologies positively affect the cost performance of hospitals. In addition, it has been observed that information technology negatively affects flexibility performance. Finally, the study also concluded that lean practises have a regulatory role in the impact of hospital supplier integration on hospital performance.
