Abstract (EN)
In a hospital, various drugs, sera and materials for diagnosis and treatment are used. Medical supplies used in the treatment of diseases have a big share in a hospital budget. Because of mistakes made by hospitals in demand planning, there is accumulation of unnecessary supplies and too much stock. When this excess is calculated using the unit price of medical supplies, it is seen that it forms a big expense in the hospital budget. Hospital management should be made more realistic during demand planning and meanwhile, not the demand of people but the decision of the commission should be accomplished. False claims cause unnecessary materials or lack of materials. Both cases form a financial burden for the hospital. Institutions should be encouraged to a little amount of stocks and the critical amount of inventory stocks should be monitored continuously. Material inputs and outputs must be controlled, leakage should be prevented and hospital information systems should be used carefully. When proper planning, right purchase method and correct stocking supplies are made, institutions expenses decrease and they have more quality service.
