Abstract (EN)

This study aimed to emphasize the importance of hospital services other than medical services such as accommodation, food and beverage, security, and socio-cultural needs. These services are referred to as hospitality services. In this study, the running criteria of hotel management business and their quality of service prioritizing to customer needs and satisfaction were explicated and then required regulations in order to provide hospitals with the criteria were stated. On the basis of literature, this study clarified that patients and their relatives expect both medical procedures to completely be implemented and also elements like physical environment, illumination, ventilation, temperature, odor, noiselessness, and decoration to conform to standards. Moreover, supporting services such as welcoming, informing, guidance, cleaning, security, and food services of high quality are among the expectations to meet the satisfaction of patients and hospital employee. It was concluded that successful implementation of hospitality services depend not only on physical and social opportunities of hospitals during inpatient treatment but also on gentle, genial, willing, and reliable communication while providing service to patients and their relatives.
