Özet (EN)
The current research was conducted to investigate the mediating role of organizational justice in relation to healthcare professionals' power distance and organizational alienation. In the study, power distance was the independent variable; organizational alienation was the dependent variable, while organizational justice was taken as the mediating variable. Hence, the study utilized the scales of power distance, organizational alienation, and organizational justice. The research was designed using a relational descriptive survey model. The research was carried out by reaching 491 people out of 4974 employees working in 14 public hospitals in Ankara. For data analysis, Model 4 was used via the SPSS package program for the mediation analysis, while the mediation effect was examined using SPSS Process macro. The results demonstrated significant differences between the participants' socio-demographic characteristics and their perceptions of power distance, organizational alienation, and organizational justice. These differences were observed between power distance and gender, age, education level, between organizational alienation and workplace, and between the perception of organizational justice and education level and workplace. The study evidenced a positive relationship between power distance and organizational alienation, and a negative relationship existed between power distance and perception of organizational justice and between organizational alienation and the perception of organizational justice. The regression analysis showed that power distance had a positive impact on organizational alienation, whereas it had a negative effect on the perception of organizational justice. When the mediating role of organizational justice was analyzed in relation to power distance and organizational alienation, it appeared that distributive and procedural justice played a mediating role while interactional justice did not. This study contributes to the existing literature since it is the first study conducted in the healthcare sector that determines the mediating role of organizational justice in relation to power distance and organizational alienation.
