Abstract (EN)

The first main purpose of this study is to understand whether the healthcare professionals working in the radiation-containing units of the hospitals have a sufficient perception to measure the safety climate. The questionnaire used in the study is the Turkish translation of the Scandinavian Security Climate Scale (NOSACQ-50), and explanatory and exploratory factor analysis was used to validate the questionnaire. Reliability was evaluated using the CronbachQs alpha. Correlation, t-test and Anova test were used to understand the relationship between variables. In this research, the universe consists of healthcare professionals working in the radiation-containing areas of hospitals. Health workers working in university, government, private and other hospital groups were included in the study. In addition, the research was limited to the province of Istanbul. The sample of the study consists of 298 health workers. The safety climate score was calculated as 2.9820 with a standard deviation of .49406 and was considered positive because the results were above 2.50 according to the NOSACQ-50 instruction. Exploratory factor analysis revealed six dimensions for seven dimensions, unlike the original version of NOSACQ-50. Key Words: Radiation Field, Hospital, Health Worker, Safety Climate, Occupational Health and Safety
