Narration of Gallipoli wars through reminiscences

Çanakkale Frontline was one of the fronts,where the Ottoman Empire battled with the Entente Powers in the World War I.This Frontline has a crucial importance due to the success gained here by the Turkish Army,which affected the result of the World War I. The most important purposes of theEntente Powers,while opening this frontline were to help Russia with weapon and ammunition through Bosphorus,and to enable The Balkan States to participate in war with them. Wars at Çanakkale Frontline took place at two separate action periods: I.PERIOD:It was the period of sea wars,beginning on 19th February and passing to the history on 18th March 1915 that completed with a great victory.The Entente Powers understood the fact that it was impossible to pass Çanakkale Bosphorus just thanks to their naval force,and as a result they decided to commit an assault,supported by land army corps. II.PERIOD:It was a period,which was carried out through land battles,starting on 25th April 1915 Sunday and going on for 8,5 months without pause.The Entente Powers could not meet with success at Seddülbahir and Arıburnu Fronts.They had to evacuate the Arıburnu Front at the night of 19/20th December and the Seddülbahir Front at the night of 8/9th December. Çanakkale Wars have a fundamental significiance not only in the Turkish history,but also in the military career of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk,who is considered to be the architect of the Turkish War of Independence.Turkish nation took the opportunity to prove their courage and nationalism that runs in their blood.thanks to their victory in Çanakkale Wars. This thesis is a study on the diaries and the war reports written by Ian Hamilton ( the chief commander of English Armies),and Liman Von Sanders (the commander of 5th Turkish Army) throughout Çanakkale Wars.It demonstrates the mistakes they made,the disappointments they encountered,and the success they met with,during warfare.
