Methods of reliability in aviation and application to vehicle design

Main reliability basis and some tools are mentioned in this thesis. Systems,structure of systems and reasons of malfunctions which can be occurring in someengineering products are examined. Relationship between reliability, quality androbustness is explained. Reliability techniques such as fault tree analysis, faultmodes and quality function deployment are given in details.As an example mechanics of breakaway of a steel plate is given. Gradientvector of system function is calculated to use the analysis method.
