Abstract (EN)
In this MSc thesis, the sound absorption measurements of terry fabrics were conducted by using 18 different fabric samples obtained by two different weft yarn numbers, three different weft densities and pile lengths and then relationship between sound absorption and fabric structural parameters like weft density, pile length and weft yarn number were examined. For this purpose, the terry fabric parameters were determined firstly and then fabric productions were done with the determined parameters. Two parameters were determined for the study. These parameters are pile length and weft density. By changing these two parameters, fabric structures of different constructions were obtained. Then, the second group fabric samples were woven by changing the weft yarn number at three different weft densities and pile lengths. Thickness, weight per square meter, air permeability and sound absorption values were measured and relation between sound absorption and fabric structural parameters were discussed considering air permeability, thickness and weight per square meter measurements results.
