Teachers 'opinions to ensure life skills in life information

This research, which was carried out to determine the role of life science lesson in gaining life skills, was designed according to mixed method model. In the quantitative part of the study, descriptive research screening model was used. The case study model was used in the qualitative part of the study. The study population of this research, which is designed according to the mixed method model, is composed of classroom teachers working in the state primary schools of Nizip district of Gaziantep. Two samples were taken from this universe for quantitative and qualitative research departments. In the quantitative part of the study, 261 classroom teachers were reached by using simple probability sampling method. In the qualitative research section of the study, 30 classroom teachers were reached by using the sampling method which is easily reachable. In order to collect data in the quantitative part of the study, Life Skills Scale, which was developed by the researcher, was used. The qualitative part of the research developed by the researchers to collect data "Teacher Interview Form" was used. SPSS 23.0 package program was used to analyze the quantitative data obtained from the study and percentage, frequency, arithmetic average, t test and variance analysis were performed for the data analysis entered into SPSS program. Descriptive technique was used to analyze the data obtained through teacher interview form. According to the quantitative findings of the study, it is seen that the opinions of the class teachers who participated in the research about the role of life science lesson in gaining life skills are generally positive. According to the quantitative findings of the study, it is seen that the participant classroom teachers stated both positive and negative views to the questions asked in order to determine the role of life science lesson in gaining life skills. When the quantitative and qualitative findings are combined, it is seen that the life science lesson has the effect of gaining life skills, but also there are some negativities and deficiencies in the life science lesson in gaining life skills.
