The examination of historacial concepts in life sciences, social studies, and Revolution History and Kemalism textbooks

The presence and quality of historical concepts, which serve as a kind of stepping stone for the development of knowledge and skills sought in the discipline of history, are important in terms of education and teaching. In this study, the presence of historical concepts in textbooks for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades (life sciences), the 4th grade (social studies), the 5th, 6th, and 7th grades (social studies), and the 8th grade (T.C. Revolution History and Kemalism) were analyzed. The study examined the distribution of these historical concepts across learning areas and units, as well as their distribution among certain themes within the discipline of history. The research findings indicate that the quantity and quality of historical concepts increase from primary to middle school levels, although exceptions were observed at certain grade levels. As expected, the highest number of historical concepts was found in the 8th grade T.C. Revolution History and Kemalism textbook, with the majority of these concepts concentrated in the theme of Revolution History
