Abstract (EN)

Folklore includes everything that belongs to the public. Therefore, the smallest occupation on Turkey Folklore, certainly, will teach us very new things about ourselves and our lives. It is also important to state that the people, who make folklore compilations, have opportunity to get to know our folk. Teke Yoruks, also, who settled in Antalya in the eleventh century also added their own unique traditions to folk beliefs in the region. We indigenise most of these beliefs even today, and direct our social lifes according to our beliefs. Our traditions are influential in social life regularly and follow the rules. Traditions, with a broade meaning, the knowledge be passed from one generation to the other, design, superstition, life style, in a broader meaning, it is nonmaterial culture. In the narrow sense, traditions is the views of a society over generations on important issues, such as sacred or political affairs. Traditions are divided into two parts as oral and written. The information about our country's folklore certainly completes the pieces that will represent a whole in the future. The information on the topic of village and small town which were collected by researchers since the republic has shed light on us and helped us on our study. In this thesis, there are many traditions and folkways belonging to Hayta Yoruks living in Antalya region. In most cases, the gradual abandonment of certain folkwyas is considered to be more modernization than the benefit of new form. The aim of this thesis is to remind the memoirs which are forgotten among the Hayta Yoruks, and to transfer them to the next generations.
