Abstract (EN)

During the Old Oghuz Turkic period, works were written in many fields. Among these, there is a considerable number of works in the type of catechism. In this period, with the influence of Islam, there was a need for catechism books containing daily information about the beliefs and worships that every believer should know among the people and the religious expectations of the people were tried to be met by writing works on this subject. Hazā Kitābü'l-'İlm-i Ḥāl ve Haẕa Kitābü'l-Fütüvvet-nāme, written on the basis of religious beliefs in Islam, was completed in 1730 by Sheikh Haji Ismail, one of the caliphs of the Sufi scholar Sheikh Sadü'd-din al-Jibāvī eş-Şeybānī (1069-1180), who influenced a large mass with the Sa'diyya sect established in Jaba. In the work in question, the beliefs and worships in Islam are given in the form of questions and answers and the doubts of religious issues are tried to be solved. The information on religious issues was explained in a language that the public could understand, taking into account the needs of the period. In this work, which has a very wide vocabulary in terms of religious terminology, the detailed giving of the subjects has made catechism privileged from other catechism books of the period. The work has a distinct place and value in terms of content and language features from other catechism books of the period in terms of preserving the existence of Old Turkic words and having Eastern Turkic language features. In this study, in the introduction, in addition to the physical features of the work such as volume, font, number of leafs, information will be given about the content, language features and author of the work. Afterwards, the text publication of the work will be created and the word index will be made. In the concluding section, the place and importance of the work in the history of Turkish catechism will be determined based on the language material. Keywords: Catechism, futuwwa, Hazā Kitābü'l-'İlm-i Ḥāl ve Haẕa Kitābü'l-Fütüvvet-nāme, 18th Century Turkish Religious Language, Eastern Turkic.
