viINVESTIGATION OF USABILITY OF READY MIXED CONCRETEPLANT WASTE WATER AS MIXING WATER IN CONCRETEPRODUCTION(M.Sc.Thesis)Engin NALLIGAZI UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYJuly 2006ABSTRACTIn this study, the usability of ready mixed concrete plant waste water as mixingwater in concrete production was investigated. For this purpose, drinking water ( S) and waste water (AS) were used as mixingwater in concrete production. Afterwards mixing AS at the rate of 25 %, 50 %and 75 % in to S , 5 different kind of concrete has been produced.Superplasticizer (SA) was used 0,5 %, 1,0 %, 1,5 % and 2,0 % (by weight ofcement) in concrete mixtures which used as mixing water S and AS. Totally 13type of concrete were produced. In those prepared concrete, the temperature, slump, the unit weight of fresh concrete, and the amount of air have beenmeasured. From the obtained concretes, the cube specimens of 150x150x150mm have been taken. The specimens have been subjected to laboratory cure for2, 7 and 28 days. Compressive strength test was performed on the hardenedconcrete specimens. With and without SA concrete specimens have beenexamined as comparing. The highest compressive strength was obtained with100 % S concrete.viiThe obtained results have indicated that the containing additive and pureconcretes are convenient to the concrened Turkish Standards, and ready mixedconcrete plant waste water can be used as mixing water in concrete production.Science Code : 714.1.143Key words :Concrete, Ready Mixed concrete, Waste Water, RecyclingPage Number : 77Adviser : Assoc.
