Özet (EN)
In this doctoral dissertation, I am working on the question of how social-historical conditions affect political regime changes. I try to answer this question with respect to a specific period in Turkish political history known as the First Nationalist Front Government (two successive coalition governments of nationalist and Islamic right-wing parties) in the 1975. The First Nationalist Front Government were established in a period when the effects of Cold War in Turkey were felt most clearly. These governments became the most important tools of the dominant classes against the labour and leftist movement. Although the goal was the consolidation of hegemony of the Turkish right, this goal was not fully accomplished. Still, First Nationalist Front Government served as the ideological pioneers of the post-1980 right-wing governments. They were the first signals of the change in the composition of dominant classes as well as the crisis of the existing accumulation regime in the 1970s.. It's a case where the links between class struggle, political regime and the state can be seen very clearly.
