Synthesis and spectroscopic studies of hexahydro-1,5-methanoazacino[4,3-b]indole structure

In this study, hexahydro-1,5-methanoazocino[4,3-b]indole skeleton which is the core structure for the tetracyclic strychnos type alkaloids (dasycarpidone and uleine) and pentacyclic strychnos type alkaloids (tubifoline and tubifolidine) was synthesized by using different methods. First, tetrahydrocarbazole derivatives which are in tricyclic structure were synthesized via a suitable cyclohexenone derivative and attempted to synthesize tetracyclic structure from these derivatives by sequence of reactions.
