Özet (EN)

In this study, the association between hematological malignancies and LMP2 and LMP7 gene polymorphisms were investigated. Hematologic malignancies is a group of neoplasms developing in the cells originated from the bone marrow. LMP2 and LMP7 genes, localized in the MHC Class II region, encode the proteosome components. There have been several studies demonstrating the possible association of these polymorphisms with different genetic disorders. It can be thought that these polymorphisms may also have a role in the development of hematological malignancies. In the study, CML (n=48), AML (n=27), CLL (n=23) and MM (n=23) patient groups and the control group (n=110) were analysed for the LMP2 and LMP7 gene polymorphisms by using PCR-RFLP method. It was found that the frequency of LMP2-H allele is significantly increased in AML (p=0), but decreased in MM (p=0) when compared to the control group. LMP2 genotype distribution showed statistically significant difference in control group and CLL patients (? 2= 20.7, p=0.000). The genotype distribution of the LMP7 gene and LMP7-Q allele frequency was found to be the same in the control group and CML patients. As a result, it is thought that there might be an association between LMP2 gene polymorphism and AML, CLL, MM and between LMP7 gene polymorphism and AML, MM.Key words: Hematologic malignancies, LMP2, LMP7, Polymorphism
