Özet (EN)

Aim: SEN virus transmitted by the blood transfusion and ıt can cause hepatitis. Hematologic cancer patients during treatment often takes of blood transfusions. This group of patients are at risk for SEN virus infections. We aimed to find prevalence of viremia and the relationship between the blood transfusions.Materials and Methods: This study was performed in the Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi İnfectious Diseases And Clinical Servise Department and Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Hematology Ward Branch Of Science between 27.5.2010 and 27.5.2011. Working group consisted patients with hematologic cancer in blood transfusion. Control group included patients without blood transfusion and non hematologic cancer. Patients blood was collected once. Samples were studied by real time polymerase chain reaction. Results: Thirty (%37,5) of eight hematologic cancer patients were positive for SEN virus. SEN virus viremia detected in forty (%50) of eight control patients. There was no difference between the two groups(p=0,1). SEN virus was present in fifteen (%57,7) of the twenty-six patients with lymphoma. Ten (%22,2) of the forty five leukemia patients were positive for SEN virus. This study suggest that SEN virus viremia was significantly more prevalent in patients with lymphoma (p=0,003). SEN virus genotip H was detected in seven (%18,4) of thirty eight patients with neutropenia, in seventeen (%40,5) of forty two patients with out neutropenia. This result indicate SEN virus genotip H viremia was significantly more prevalent in patients with out neutropenia(p=0,032). Thirteen (%46,4) of twenty eight patients positive for SEN virus who received blood transfusion from one to five. SEN virus viremia detected in eleven (%39,3) of twenty eight patients who received blood transfusion from six to thirty. SEN virus detected in six (%25) of twenty four patients who received blood transfusion from thirty one and over. There was no difference between groups. Conclusions: SEN virus H genotip viremia wasn?t more prevalent in patients with neutropenia. This finding suggesting that SEN virus may replicate in bone marrow or may be carried by leukocytes. The number of blood transfusions did not change the frequency of SEN virus.improved immunity. This may be due to the development of immune.
