Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to determine if the "Scale of Assessment of Self-Care Behaviors with Arteriovenous Fistula in Hemodialysis" developed by Sousa et al. was reliable and valid tool for the society. The sampling of the research was carried out with 170 patients participating dialysis sessions in 2 hemodialysis units located in Abant Izzet Baysal Training and Research Hospital, Oz Dialysis Center and Nefro Bolu Dialysis Center affiliated to General Secretariat of Bolu Province for Turkish Public Hospitals Authority. Data were collected by the interviewer using face to face interviews with "Patient Information Sheet, "Scale of Assessment of Self-Care Behaviors with Arteriovenous Fistula in Hemodialysis", "General Self Efficacy Scale ". One-way language translation method was used to test the validity of the scale for the adaptation of scale to Turkey. The opinions of 11 experts were consulted for testing the content/scope validity of the scale. Fleiss kappa coefficient of concordance was used for the evaluation of expert opinions. Factor analysis was applied to indicate the construct validity of the scale. Kaiser Mayer Olkin (KMO) sampling adequacy value of the scale was 0.876 and Bartlett test result (χ2 = 1876.183, df = 120, p = 0.001) was found significant. This showed that data group Complied with the factor analysis. Two sub-dimensions were found in accordance with the original scale in varimax rotated explanatory factor analysis; the clarification ratio of the variance described in these two factors was found 59.01%. Also the method of comparing the known groups and hypothesis testing methods were used for construct validity. Results in line with the literature were obtained in known group comparison. "General Self-Efficacy Scale" was used as comparative scale for hypothesis testing, method. An advanced level of significant and positive relationship was found between the two scales. In the reliability analysis of the scale, the internal consistency was indicated with Cronbach's Alpha coefficient. Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the two sub-dimensions of scale was found as 0.844 and 0.852 respectively and the total score Cronbach's Alpha coefficient was found as 0.916. The reliability of the scale was determined by the method of dividing the test into two halves. The correlation between the two halves of the scale is 0.762. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the first half (6 items) is 0.893, Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the second half (8 items) is 0.816. Spearman-Brown coefficient between the two halves was found as 0.865 and Guttman Split-Half coefficient was found to be highly reliable with 0.815. As a result; "Scale of Assessment of Self-Care Behaviors with Arteriovenous Fistula in Hemodialysis" consisting of 16 articles was demonstrated to be reliable and valid tool for Turkish Community.
