Özet (EN)
This research was conducted using a methodological, descriptive, cross-sectional, and comparative design to develop and implement a multidimensional deprivation scale for nurses as a data collection tool to determine their levels of deprivation. Accordingly, the researchers created an initial pool of 88 items representing three subdimensions: professional, individual, and organizational deprivation. To assess content validity, expert opinions were obtained from 11 specialists, followed by a pilot study conducted with 54 nurses. Data for the exploratory factor analysis (EFA) were collected face-to-face from 468 nurses employed in six inpatient healthcare institutions in Türkiye, whereas data for the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were gathered online from an independent sample of 228 nurses. The results indicated that factor loadings exceeded 0,45 and the item–total correlation coefficients were above 0,30. The professional deprivation subscale consisted of seven items and two subdimensions, the individual deprivation subscale comprised 13 items and two subdimensions, and the organizational deprivation subscale included 18 items and four subdimensions. In the CFA, it was observed that the fit index values were within acceptable and excellent ranges, and in the internal consistency analysis, the Cronbach's alpha values of each subscale were found to be greater than 0,70. Convergent and discriminant validity were established for each subscale. Test-retest analysis revealed no statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the first and second administrations. As a result, it was concluded that the developed scale is a valid and reliable tool that can be used to measure the deprivation status of nurses.
