Abstract (EN)
In this study, the effect of emotional intelligence levels of nurses, one of the most important employees of health institutions, on organizational silence behaviors was examined. Emotional intelligence, dimensions of emotional intelligence, organizational silence, types of organizational silence and the place and importance of the two concepts in health institutions are explained. When looking at the relevant literature, although the issues of emotional intelligence and organizational silence in nurses have been discussed separately, no studies have been found that examine these two issues together. In this context, it is thought that the study will contribute to the literature. The sample of the research consists of 300 nurses working at Erzurum Atatürk University Training and Research Hospital. The necessary data was collected from official sources through a survey. In addition to socio-demographic questions, the survey includes the "Emotional Intelligence Trait Scale Short Form" signed by Özer, Işık and Deniz (2013) and the "Organizational Silence Scale" adapted into Turkish by Çavuşoğlu and Köse (2019) and divided into two by Knoll and Dick (2012). "You are local. The analyzes were completed by transferring the provided IBM SPSS Statistics 26. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that Emotional Intelligence had a significant negative effect on Organizational Silence. As Emotional Intelligence increases, Organizational Silence behavior decreases.
