Abstract (EN)

Nurses are the greatest ones of the health professional group that have a much better relationship with the patients . In this study , the concept of nursing profession and patient rights have been dealt with and the knowledge levels of nurses about the patient rights has been surveyed. The concept of rights has been dealt in the broadest sense , the historical development of patient rights has been mentioned. The patient rights have been examined in terms of both patients and employees and in this matter patient education and the knowledge level of the concept of rights in terms of patient have been also searched. The development of patients rights in Turkey and in the world has been mentioned. All the rights in Patients Rights Legistation have been examined in details. A wide range of rights such as the right to benefit of the patient during the process from starting the application to the discharged in a health care provider , the right of getting information , the right of keeping the information secret and approval of medical intervention and the right of respecting of human values have been discussed comprehensively. Nurses' levels of knowledge about patient rights have been compared and explained with graphics. When the graphics and charts have been examined, it is releaved that training is necessary and urgent. It has been emerged that the awareness of patients about the patient rights are increasing day by day with the help of training and information sharing and so nurses need to be got trained under cover of this awareness situation.
