Sample of job satisfaction of nurses at Bursa State Hospital

Abstract (EN)
This research was performed for the purpose of determining job satisfaction levels of the nurses employed in Bursa State Hospital and examining whether job satisfaction levels differ according to their definitive characteristics or not. The survey form prepared for this purpose was applied to 138 nurses who were employed in Bursa State Hospital in December 2012 and who accepted to participate in the research voluntarily. The data obtained from were analyzed in computer by means of SPSS 21.0 statistic package program. Percentage and frequency analyses were utilized for determining definitive characteristics of the nurses who participated in the research and mean and standard deviation statistics were utilized for determining job satisfaction levels. T-test, unidirectional anova and tukey tests were utilized for examining job satisfaction levels of the nurses who participated in the research depending on their definitive characteristics, correlation analysis was utilized for examining the relations between aspects determining job satisfaction levels. It was concluded as a consequence of the research that job satisfaction levels the nurses who participated in the research with regard to the job itself, reliability and the aspect of relations with colleagues were higher than the medium level, their job satisfaction levels with regard to wage, advancement, working environment and conditions were low and their development means, management form, relations with the directors and general job satisfaction levels were at medium level. It was concluded in the research that there were not differences in job satisfactions of nurses according to their gender, marital status, units they are commissioned in, working periods, working periods in the units they are commissioned in and their status of having children, and there were differences in their job satisfactions according to their ages, education levels, statuses of selecting and performing their job lovingly. It was determined that there were positively meaningful relations among all aspects determining job satisfaction levels of the nurses in statistical terms. Expectation levels of nurses according to place of duty variable differ in the aspects of wage, working environment and conditions. Furthermore, it was concluded that there was difference in the aspect of development means of responding expectations of nurses according to place of duty variable.
