Abstract (EN)

YALAZA, Selvihan. Evaluation of Nurses' Gynecological Cancer Awareness and Affecting Factors, (Master's Thesis), Çankırı, 2024. The aim of this research is to determine nurses' awareness of gynecological cancers and the affecting factors. The research is of descriptive type and its sample consists of 140 nurses who meet the inclusion criteria and work at Etimesgut Şehit Sait Ertürk State Hospital in Ankara between 16 November 2022 and 15 January 2023. Introducing Characteristics Form and Gynecological Cancers Awareness Scale were used to collect data. Statistical analysis of the data obtained from the research was carried out using the package program SPSS (IBM SPSS Statistics 26). Frequency tables and descriptive statistics were used in the interpretation of the findings, and the statistical significance value was accepted as p < 0.05. For research; Ethics Committee permission was obtained from Çankırı Karatekin University, institutional permission was obtained from Ankara Provincial Health Directorate, JİKFÖ scale permission was obtained from the author, and a voluntary consent form was obtained from the nurses participating in the study. In our research, 85.7% of the nurses received information about women's cancers in vocational training, 49.3% consulted a gynecologist if they encountered a suspicious situation, 92.9% had information about KETEM, 91.4% It was determined that 100,000 people knew the methods of early diagnosis of women's cancers, and 88.6% stated that organizing education and screening programs could be very effective in reducing the risk of women's cancers. In JİKFÖ, where a minimum of 41 and a maximum of 205 points can be obtained, the total score average of this research is 162.46±17.12, min. 89.0, max. It was determined that it was 199.0, and nurses' income level, age at menopause, smoking status, number of pregnancies and births, gynecological examination and having children, and knowledge of early diagnosis methods affected JİKFÖ and its sub-dimensions. In order to increase nurses' awareness of gynecological cancer, it is recommended to provide regular in-service training on this subject. Key Words: Awareness, Nurse, Gynecological cancer.
