Materials and Methods This is a descriptive cross-sectional study conducted between June and July 2019 with 138 nurses working in a university hospital. "Nurse Identification Form", "Nursing Commitment Scale" and "Contextual Performance Scale" were used to collect the data. Data were analyzed with SPSS 15.0 (Statistical Package Social Science). Cronbach alpha value, number-percentage distributions, and chi-square test, student t-test, Kruskal Wallis, one-way ANOVA, and correlation analysis were performed using the data obtained from the scales. Correlation analysis was used to examine the relationship between the scales. Findings The mean age of the nurses participating in the study was 31.28 ± 6.19; 58.7% were under 31 years of age; 81.9% were women; 55.1% were married; 89.1% were graduate; 79.7% stated equal income and expense. The mean score of the Commitment to the Profession Scale was determined to be 71.22 ± 9.18. Willingness to Perform High Efforts, Continuation of Profession Membership, Faith to Professional Goals and Values subscales had means of 39.06 ± 7.14, 17.19 ± 6.74, and 14.96 ± 1.92 respectively. The mean score of the Contextual Performance Scale was determined to be 184.07 ± 24.72. Personal Support Score and Organizational Support subscales resulted with means of 102.96 ±10.91 and 81.12±17.54 respectively.
