Considering about nurses of professional manner at occupation and behaviors

Objective: This research is a descriptive nature, which was materialized to specify professional manners and behaviors of nurses at occupation. Materials and Methods: The universe of the research consists 372 nurses who work in Celal Bayar University Hafsa Sultan Hospital (N=372). The sample was formed total 271 nurses who want to participate in the research as voluntary (n=271). The data of the research was collected with "Identifying Information Form for Nurses" and "Professional Manner Inventory at Occupation-PMIO". The analysis of the research were considered by using SPSS 15.0 Statistic Analysis Program and for complement statistic, number, percentage, average and standard deviation, according to independent variable , in comparison of professional manner at occupation score averages ,test T in independent groups, one way analysis of variance, regression analysis, Posthoc Tukeys HSD analysis as advanced analysis. Results: Averages of nurses age in the research is 31.19±6.11. 55.4 percent of nurses have bachelor's degree, 73.4 percent of them are clinical nurses, and 74.5 percent of them work more than 40 hours in a week. PMIO score average was detected as 138.33±11.36. In this work, it was found that people who did postgraduate, unit charge nurses, nurses who work in outpatient and inpatient services, nurses who work more than 11 years, nurses who work only in daytime, nurses who love their job, nurses who choose same job again if they have chance one more time, nurses who think professional themselves, nurses who join in scientific activity, nurses who follow vocational publications, have professional manner at occupation high score averages (p<0,05). Conclusion and suggestions: Variables have the most impact on the MPTE scores was detected as work experience, thinking to be professional on work and following vocational publications. It has been thought that it is important that supportive opportunities should be improved for nurses professional manner.
