Abstract (EN)
Effect of Organizational Justice Perceived by Nurses on their Organizational Silence Objective:This study was conducted to determine the effect of organizational justice perceived by nurses on their organizational silence. Method: The population of this correlational study consisted of the nurses working at a city hospital in Eastern Anatolia. Nurses who have been working at the said hospital for at least six months and agreed to take part in the study were included in the study(n=500). The data were collected by the investigator using a personal information form, the organizational justice scale and the organizational silence scale. Numbers, percentages, means, standard deviations, t test, one way variance analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis were used to analyse the data. Results: The majority of study participants were female, in the young age group, holding a bachelor's degree, married with children, in the position of a clinical nurse, and with 1-6 years of professional experience. The nurses were found to have a moderate level of perceived organizational justice and a low-moderate level of organizational silence. The perceived organizational justice was found to differ with respect to the descriptive characteristic of finding the number of nurses in the clinic sufficient (p<0.05) and the organizational silence with respect to the descriptive characteristics of gender, the unit in which they worked, the way of working, and finding the number of nurses in the clinic sufficient (p<0.05). Perceived organizational justice was found to have a low positive significant effect on nurses' organizational silence level (R=.096, R2=.009, F=4.634, p<0.05). Conclusion: The results of the study revealed that the nurses had a moderate level of perceived organizational justice and a low-moderate level of organizational silence and perceived organizational justice had a low effect on organizational silence. Based on the study results, it can be recommended to organise education programs to improve nurses' perception of organizational justice hence cooperation between them, and to allow employees to participate in decision making processes so that institutional activities can be arranged on the basis of common decisions.
