The relationship between nursing services control culture and job satisfaction

The research was conducted to determine the relationship between the nursing services control culture and job satisfaction among clinical nurses. The universe of the research is composed of nurses working in a public hospital and a university hospital clinic located in Düzce province. In the research, it is aimed to reach the entire universe by not choosing a sampling method (N:621). June 2024- December 2024, a sample of nurses who worked in the clinics of two hospitals located in the province of Duzce and agreed to participate in the study was created (n:284). In the data collection, Personal and Professional Information Form, Nursıng Servıces Control Culture Scale, and the Nurse Job Satisfaction Scale. The average score of clinical nurses who participated in the study on the Nursıng Servıces Control Culture Scale was found to be 64.24±13.61. According to the sub-dimensions, the scores were 18.39±4.49 for the "objectives of the control process," 18.31±4.39 for the "operation of the control process," and 27.54±7.18 for the "effects of the control process." The average score of the Nurse Job Satisfaction Scale was determined as 3.49±0.49. In terms of sub-dimensions, the scores were 3.56±0.67 for "positive feelings about the job," 3.46±0.89 for "appropriate support from superiors," 3.90±0.49 for "perceived importance in the workplace," and 2.78±0.76 for "pleasant working environment." A moderately positive correlation was found between the total scores of the Control Culture Scale in Nursing Services and the Nurse Job Satisfaction Scale (r=0.528; p<0.001). Further analysis revealed that the control culture in nursing services affected nurses' job satisfaction by 27.9%. It is suggested that the control process, which is the final stage in the management of nursing services, should be carried out with proper techniques and at the right time to enhance job satisfaction in healthcare institutions.
