Abstract (EN)

Although herbicides are used to control weeds, it is established that they adversely influence the growth and development of the culture plant. It is known that antioxidant defense systems take charge in the prevention damage caused by the utilization of herbicides. It was observed based on a limited number of studies that vitamins are also strong antioxidants. This study examinated the effects of herbicides (Ralon and Granstar) and salicylic acid (SA) on the vitamins and amino acids in wheat leaves. Wheats were grown for 15 days period and their leaves were sprayed with Ralon(R) (fenoxaprop-p-ethyl) and Granstar (37,5% tribenuron methyl + 37,5% thifensulfuron methyl), 0.05 mM SA, 0.5 mM SA, 5 SA, R+0.05 mM SA, R+0.5 mM SA and R+5 mM SA. The leaves were cut out after 24, 48 and 72 hours and levels of vitamin C, B1 B2 B3, B6 and amino acids were analyzed. Vitamin and amino acid analysis were performed with HPLC and UFLC methods. It was found based on the data obtained that Ralon and Granstar increased the levels of vitamin C, B1, B2 and B3, but decreased all three forms (PL,PN,PM) of vitamin B6. It was found that the greatest reduction in the level of amino acids occurred on the 1st day in Ralon, in particular, aspartic acid, glutamic acid, arginin and tryptophan were more affected. It was observed that Ralon and Granstar geneally did not affect glycine, alanine and valine. 0.5 mM SA showed to be more effective to increase the vitamin and amino acid levels. It was seen that SA generally reduced negative impact of Ralon on the vitamin and amino acid levels. As showns in our study, SA works to protect the crops by decreases the negative effects of herbicides on vitamins and amino acids
