Abstract (EN)
Intellectual capital has started to be very important in terms of explaining the differences between the market values and book values of firms. Especially in sectors that do not have high investments in terms of tangible assets, company values are formed by intellectual assets. There are many methods for calculating intellectual assets. The Calculated Intangible Asset Method is a method of calculating intellectual assets using pre-tax profitability, sector average returns and tangible fixed assets of companies. In this context, the intellectual property assets of banks in Turkey's banking sector was calculated using the Calculated Intangible Asset Method in this study. The possible causes of the determinants and differences among banks whose intellectual assets are calculated by this method are presented at the result of this study.
