Producing landslide susceptibility maps and evaluating the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in landslide susceptibility activities (Çankiri sample)

Abstract (EN)

Landslides are natural disasters that affect both residential areas and forest areas. Landslide; depending on the distance to faults, streams, roads, slope, height, lithology etc. The severity of these factors can reach dimensions that threaten human life. Considering that a significant part of our country's forest areas are located in mountainous areas, the seriousness of the situation is better understood. Forestry activities must be carried out without interruption throughout the year. Landslides cause disruption of various services by closing the forest roads used in the execution of these activities. Considering the road construction needs, planning studies to be carried out in areas susceptible to landslides should analyze the region's landslide susceptibility in advance and determine appropriate routes regarding the mandatory road construction need. More detailed data obtained from Geographic Information Systems and technological devices can be presented to support planners and decision makers in such sensitive areas. In this study, a landslide susceptibility map was created within the borders of Çankırı and in the Ilısılık locality of Çankırı, according to the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Logistic Regression approaches using GIS software. Susceptibility maps were produced according to the criteria of elevation, slope, lithology, distance to faults - streams and roads, according to AHP and LR modeling approaches. 30 m resolution Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data for Çankırı province study area, 1 m resolution Digital Terrain Model (DTM) using multicopter drone device for Ilısılık study area. As a result of the findings, AHP model success was calculated as 73.9% for Çankırı, 91.7% for Ilısılık location, and LR model success was calculated as 75.2% for Çankırı and 93.1% for Ilısılık location. As a result of the study, DTM data is advantageous in comparison with DTM and DEM data by offering a more precise and detailed usage opportunity, and since the sensitivity is revealed more clearly and effectively in sensitive planning studies such as road planning that requires special measurement in small areas. The use of these tools is beneficial for planners, practitioners and It is thought that it can create support for decision makers.
