Abstract (EN)

The concept of empathy, which is one of the most important qualities of mankind. It is one of the qualities necessary to maintain sociality of a person who is social being: Empathy… In this thesis, the concept of empathy was discussed in the context of the interaction with the art of sculpture; other concepts that are confused with Empathy and its varieties are examined and explained by benefiting from pyschology, sociology, philosophy and other theoretical fields. At the end of the Empathy felt by the artist with life and society, the empathic connection between the artist, the work, and the audience has been examined by following the traces created by the emotional state that emerged during the process of artistic production and met with the audience. The artist delivers the feeling of empathy that he or she has established with an event that is experienced or happened through the artwork to the viewers. Empathy is conveyed through forms and concepts in art. The audience creates an empathic connection with both the event and the artist. In this context, the concept of empathy in sculpture art has been questioned in the process up to today's art, supported with the resources and visuals examined.
