Abstract (EN)
Known as a journalist, Hıfzı Topuz requires a different study, when we take into account his studies about cultural and communication areas. Within UNESCO (1959-1983), he worked as a communication expert in different parts of the world, while he has pioneering and founding roles in cultural and communication studies in Turkey. There is a rich archive of Hıfzı Topuz which descended from his family elders which include letters, photopraphs along with his own collections, all carry important meaning for the cultural, literary and press history. During our conversations with him, I had the chance to look at these documants that contributed to my study too. Aged with the Turkish Republic and drawing on his own experinces, archives and researches, he writes historical, biographical documentary novels, all shed light to history for modern readers. In this study, drawing on his accounts and written works, I aimed to analyze his ideas and views in terms of media, cultural and literary history.
