Abstract (EN)

The increase in the world population causes the production in industrial facilities to increase in order to meet human needs that change and develop day by day. The amount of raw materials used during production and the waste generated as a result of production is quite high. Water is one of the most natural needs for these productions. It is extremely important to treat and reuse wastewater generated in industrial facilities that consume high amounts of water. Various techniques are used to purify wastewater generated during production processes. One of these techniques is electrochemical techniques. Electrochemical techniques can operate as reactor electrocoagulation, electrooxidation and electroflotation processes, depending on the types of electrodes used. Generally, there are applications in wastewater treatment as EC (electrocoagulation) or EO (electrooxidation) process in electrochemical systems. However, studies on the treatment of ice cream production process wastewater regarding the use of hybrid electrode types simultaneously in the same reactor have been limited. In this thesis study, Fe/SS/TiRuO2, Al/SS/TiRuO2, Fe/SS/Graphite, Al/SS/Graphite hybrid electrode types and Al/SS/Al, Fe/SS/Fe, TiRuO2/SS/Graphite, BDD/SS/SS The effects of electrode connection types on KOD and TOC removal efficiencies were examined. While the highest KOD/TOC removal efficiency was determined to be the BDD/SS/SS electrode type with 95%, the lowest removal efficiency was obtained from the Al/SS/Graphite electrode type with 59%. In addition, in the study, parameters such as Average Oxidation State (AOS) and Carbon Oxidation State (COS) were examined in order to determine the biodegradability of ice cream production wastewater. Parameters such as energy consumption, current efficiency and electrical energy efficiency, which are among the most important parameters in the operation of electrochemical processes, have been determined. In the study, it was concluded that the electrochemical process using BDD/SS/SS electrode type is effective in the treatment of ice cream production wastewater, which is one of the wastewaters with high KOD content.
