Evaluation of Sa'id Nursi's jurisprudential views in the context of wisdom-an example of worship

Bediüzzaman Said Nursi, a prominent Islamic scholar who lived in the 20th century, dedicated his life to the service of knowledge, faith, and the Qur'an. In his major work, the Risale-i Nur, while primarily addressing issues of theology and creed, he also touches upon subjects such as jurisprudence, hadith, and ethics. This study particularly focuses on the topics related to jurisprudence, especially concer-ning acts of worship, in the light of Islamic law. Additionally, it examines Bediüz-zaman Said Nursi's perspective on these topics from a wisdom standpoint, specifi-cally analyzing the 'why' rather than the 'how' of the jurisprudence of worship. The intellectual legacy of Bediüzzaman Said Nursi (r.a.) and his interpreta-tions of worship have been examined from a new perspective. This study aims to make an academic contribution to the understanding of his works. This study focuses on the verses, hadiths, and various sources related to the topic, along with the works of Bediüzzaman Said Nursi written during his "Old Said" and "New Said" periods. Since the research topic is framed within the works of Bediüzzaman Said Nursi, frequent quotations have been made from the original text of the Risale-i Nur. To clarify the topics discussed, the acts of worship categorized as "Fıkhu'l-evleviyat" have been examined in the works of Bediüzzaman Said Nursi. Additio-nally, the views of juristic scholars regarding these matters have been referenced. In the works of Bediüzzaman Said Nursi, his perspective on acts of worship has been identified and conveyed through comprehensive explanations.
