Hikmet Barutçugil'in ebru sanatindaki yeri ve barut ebrusu

In this study which has been researched the educator and artistic aspect of Hikmet Barutcugil who is one of the current artists of Traditional Turk Marbling Art, it is aimed to determine the contributions of the artist to marbling art.The study has been carried out by using sacanning method out of descriptive methods. It has been dealt with 50 works of the artist in this study which hold qualifications as monography. That the selected works has been evaluated in terms of colour and topic has been carried out using the scale developed by the researcher. As a result of the study, it has been reached a conclısion that Hikmet Barutcugil has presented a new perspective to the marbling art and improved it by combining with different techniques. The artist has gone out of conventional marbling art, and blended his works with a contemporary interpretation and has provided Barut Marbling with the literature. Furthermore, Barutcugil has expanded the area of usage applying the art on several surfaces. In the works of Barutcugil, yellow has been commonly used, and the descriptions of Istanbul has taken place. In this sense it has been suggested to hold several events at home and abroad for new generations to maintain this tradition by apprehending Traditional Marbling Art, and in order to give sufficient importance to Hikmet Barutcugil and marbling art..Key words: Traditional Art, Marbling Art, Barut Marbling, Hikmet Barutcugil.
