Özet (EN)
Alcohol is as old as human history. Many civilizations have consumed alcoholic beverages, and some civilizations have considered the drink sacred. The Turks consumed the drink in the form of kumiss, which is indispensable for entertainment due to its intoxicating feature. Although many states have tried to take measures against the material and moral damages of alcohol, they have not been successful due to economic concerns. In this sense, the fight against health-threatening alcohol and all addictions has been made by non-governmental organizations and associations without any economic concerns. In this study, the first volume of the "Hilal-i Ahdar" newspaper published by the organization, which was originally known as the "Hilâl-i Ahdar" Society, and which continues its mission as the "Yeşilay Association" today, was transcribed and information was given about the subjects it contains. When we transcribed the Hilal-i Ahdar newspaper, it was seen that the newspaper contained educational information not only on alcohol and other addictions, but also on all issues concerning public health. It is thought that it is possible to evaluate the newspaper examined in this study not only in the fight against addictions but also as today's public health magazines.
