Abstract (EN)
In this study, adiponectin, protein carbonylation and total antioxidant capacity as oxidative stress markers, TNF-? and IL-6 levels as proinflammatory cytokines were measured in patients with hyperlipidemia and coronary artery disease and compared with healthy volunteers. The effects of age, sex, body mass index, dietary fat consumption, smoking and physical activity on the measured parameters were evaluated in hyperlipidemic patients.Although the adiponectin levels of the total patients were found significantly higher (p<0.05) than the control group; the TAC levels were found significantly lower (p<0.01). Total patients were divided into three groups: the group of hyperlipidemic patients, the group of patients with hyperlipidemia and coronary artery disease and the group of patients only with coronary artery disease. Although the protein carbonylation of the hyperlipidemic patients were found significantly higher (p<0.01) than the control group; the TAC levels were found significantly lower (p<0.05). Although the adiponectin levels of the group of patients with hyperlipidemia and coronary artery disease were found significantly higher (p<0.01) than the control group; the TAC levels were found significantly lower (p<0.01). The protein carbonylation of the group of patients only with coronary artery disease was found significantly lower (p<0.05) than the control group. In the assessment of the measured parameters between the groups: The lowest protein carbonylation levels were achieved in the group of patients only with coronary artery disease and the highest levels were achieved in the hyperlipidemic group. Statistically significant differences were found between all groups of patients in terms of protein carbonylation. When it was compared with the patients with coronary artery disease from the point of TAC, lower levels were achieved in the patients with hyperlipidemia and coronary artery disease.Negative correlation was found between TAC levels and protein carbonylation levels of the total patients (r= -0.30, p<0.01) and also between TAC levels and protein carbonylation levels and TAC levels and TNF-? levels of the hyperlipidemic group (r= -0.51, p<0.01; r= -0.36, p<0.05 respectively). Keywords: Adiponectin, hyperlipidemia, oxidative stress, coronary artery disease, protein carbonylation, antioxidant.
