Abstract (EN)

15 Years Experience in Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) of Hypertensive Children Purpose: In this study, in which we will retrospectively examine the data of children who underwent ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM), it is aimed to evaluate all stages from the indications to the implementation and evaluation of the 15-year ABPM data of a third-level center in a region that has not been evaluated in this respect before. Material and Methods: A total of 1859 patients were included in the study, by retrospectively scanning both the clinical data and the results of ABPM of the patients who were treated as inpatients or outpatients in the Inonu University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Pediatric Nephrology between 2005 and 2020, for whom the ABPM method was used in the follow-up and diagnosis phase. 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure measurements were made with ABPM. Age, gender, height, weight, height and weight percentiles, height and weight SDS, BMI, BMI percentiles, BMI SDS were recorded. The 24-hour, day and night averages of systolic BP, diastolic BP, MAP and pulse measurements in ABPM results, and their percentile and SDS values were recorded in the follow-up forms. Statistical analysis was performed by using the SPSS (Statistical Program in Social Sciences) 22.0 software program. Results: The mean BMI of the patients who were found to be hypertensive as a result of ABPM was found to be significantly higher than the patients who were found to be normotensive. According to ABPM results, 38.6% of the patients had systolic dipper hypertension and 71.4% had diastolic dipper hypertension. It was determined that the non-dipper feature was more especially in systolic blood pressure. The rate of dipper in normotensive patients was found to be significantly higher than hypertensive ones. It was observed that nighttime measurements were more adequate than 24-hour and daytime measurements. The mean age of those who were sufficient in the measurement average was found to be significantly higher than that of those who were not. It was concluded that those who were obese had a greater risk for invalidation. Conclusion: Since the study is one of the most comprehensive studies conducted in our region, we think that it is valuable in reflecting the hypertension profile of both Malatya and this geographical region.
