Abstract (EN)
This is a descriptive study conducted to examine the effect of cardiovascular disease risk and self-efficacy level on cardiovascular risk awareness in individuals with hypertension. The population of the study consists of individuals with a diagnosis of hypertension who received inpatient treatment at Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University İzzet Baysal Training and Research Hospital Internal Clinics during the study period. The sample size was determined by power analysis using the G Power 3.1.9.4 program. Assuming that it has a medium effect size (w=0.28), it was concluded that at least 164 individuals with hypertension should be included in the sampling with 80% power. It was concluded that 168 individuals who met the inclusion criteria were included. Data; It was obtained by using the Individual Identification Form, Framingham Risk Model, Cardiovascular Diseases Risk Factors Knowledge Level, and Hypertension Self-Efficacy Scale. 60.1% of the participants were male and 39.9% were female. The mean age is 57.63±6.47 years. 44 percent of them have chronic diseases and the most common chronic disease is diabetes. Drug users have high self-efficacy levels and low cardiovascular risk levels. It was observed that individuals with hypertension had the lowest knowledge level of cardiovascular disease risk factors in asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, and the highest in rhythm disorders and diabetes. There is no difference between the total scores of cardiovascular disease risk factors knowledge level according to the cardiovascular risk levels of the individuals. Hypertension self-efficacy levels of individuals with hypertension with low and moderate cardiovascular risk level are higher than hypertension self-efficacy levels of individuals with hypertension with high cardiovascular risk level. As the level of cardiovascular risk increased, cardiovascular risk scores increased. KEYWORDS: Hypertension, Cardiovascular Risk, Self-Efficacy, Awareness, Nursing
