Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to reveal the effect of anxiety levels on the quality of life of patients who underwent pituitary surgery. For this purpose, the research is descriptive and analytical in the quantitative research design and was carried out by survey method. The study group of the study consisted of 75 individuals who applied to the Neurosurgery Clinic of Istanbul Basaksehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital and underwent endoscopic pituitary surgery. In the collection of the data of the study, "Patient Information Form", "State and Trait Anxiety Scale" and "SF-12 Quality of Life Scale" were used based on the literature. The reliability and normality of the measurement tools used in the study were measured, and correlation, regression and difference analyzes were performed in line with the data obtained. In the difference analysis, t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used. According to the findings of the research; A significant negative correlation was found between state and trait anxiety and SF-12 YKS physical health. Similarly, a significant negative correlation was found between trait anxiety and SF-12 YKS mental health. At the same time, a significant difference was found between gender, working status, pituitary diagnosis time, chronic disease other than disease, previous surgery, having children and income level, and between the "State and Trait Anxiety Scale" and the "SF-12 Quality of Life Scale". However, it was determined that age, marital status, smoking status, education level and reason for surgery did not make a significant difference in terms of research variables. After all; It has been determined that SF-12 YKÖ physical health and SF-12 YKÖ mental health levels decrease as state and trait anxiety increase in patients who underwent pituitary surgery.
