Özet (EN)

Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) is brain damage that occurs prenatal, natal and postnatal factors under the effect of systemic hypoxia results of a cerebral blood flow reduction. Despite all the improvmentes in medicine HIE connected mortality and morbidity rates are still quite high. Today, only hypothermia as a supportive therapy in the treatment of HIE is available. The aim of this study previous HIE treatments couldn't have shown the success of the single use of COX inhibitör and/or single use of LOX inhibitors, dual inhibitor licofelone is to show effects in the treatment of HIE. Wistar family rats perforned for this purpose. Experimental animals in each group so that 7 animals were divided into 4 groups. Both rats in the hypoxic-ischemic groups were exposed to hypoxia by applying carotid ligation. Then licofelone, licofelone + allopurinol and salin were given. At the end of experiment, all groups of rats were decapitated under anesthesia. After the decapitation, brains rapidly removed and tissues were stained applying the TUNEL method. Moreover, caspase-3, caspase-8, caspase-9 activity were studied with speetrophotometric methods. In this study, licofelone reduced apoptosis compared to control group. In licofelone group, caspase activity were lower than the allopurinol+licofelone group. In this study, when we searched neuronal damage after HI insult was concluded licofelone decrase caspase activity and apopitosis it made a new hope light. Key words: Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, licofelone, apoptosis
