Özet (EN)

Comparison of SUVmax in PET/CT For Lung Cancers According to Histopathological Types And Investigation of Relationship Between SUVmax and Clinical Staging in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer.Purpose: The Maximum Standardized Uptake Values (SUVmax) on PET is used F-18 FDG uptake in tumor cells. The aim of our study was to compare lung cancer histopathological types SUVmax, relationship between SUVmax of lung cancer in the nodular and clinical staging of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).Materials and method: From July 2009 to July 2011, this retrospective study included 90 patients (12 women, 78 men; their age 27-83, mean age 60,16) with lung cancer. PET/CT images which obtained before thoracic surgery, were histopathological results lung cancer. PET/CT images results were calculated tumor size and SUVmax. NSLC stages were determined by using TNM and AJCC staging systems. Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) between NSCLC and lung cancer SUVmax were compared. Evaluated relationship between SUVmax in the clinical staging of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).Results: Histopathologically, the distribution of tumor subtypes, was 17 SCLC,27 adenocarcinom, 29 squamous cell carsinom and 17 nonclassification NSCLC patients were present in the study. There was statistically signifant difference between SCLC and NSCLC mean SUVmax (p=0,017).Squamous cell cancer SUVmax is higher number of other subtypes. Squamous cell cancer (17,48±8,60), adenocarsinom (12,73±5,26), nonclassification NSCLC (11,75±3,85), SCLC (11,28±3,44). Squamous difference between SCLC is statistically significant (p=0,008). Squamous cell cancer difference between adenocarsinom (p=0,028) and squamous difference between nonclassification NSCLC (p=0,017). There was statistically positive correlation between NSCLC SUVmax and tumor size (r=,231, p=0,028). There were statistically positive correlation between NSCLC SUVmax, nodular and clinical staging respectively (r=,302, p=0,009), (r=,319, p= 0,006).Conclusıon: There were different FDG uptake among various histological types of lung cancer. Squamous cell carsinom SUVmax is higher number of other subtypes. There were positivite correlation between SUVmax, tumor size, nodular staging and clinical staging of NSCLC. Prospective and randomised studies are required.
