Özet (EN)
Hittite is one of the oldest Indo-European language. Hittite cuneiform text had been written on clay tablets and tablets have been made permanent by baking them. Expert Systems or Knowledge Based Systems is one of the current techniques in order to interpret the Hittite Texts. Instead of everyone working separately to develop their own expert system, obtaining expert system shell software and filling it with own rules are more effective. With the help of the Hittite Grammar, expert system rules can be created using the tree structure. Monosyllabic or multiple-syllable words are considered. Nothing underlined, capital or lowercase letters, the most basic level of the tree structure is created. In this thesis after problem definition, literature study and thesis objectives in the Introduction Chapter, a brief review on Hittites and cuneiform script were given. In the next chapter, Expert Systems are briefly summarized. The next Chapter has the process of developing an Expert System decision tree for Hittite language grammar is given. In the next chapter a proposed project named Hittite Information System is briefly described and the Expert System that is developed in the study is summarized. The study ends with Summary and Conclusions. Relevant references are given at the end.
