Hittite sculptures

Hittite State between 18th century BC and 12th century BC, had a wide spread area. Although it is generally known that they live in the Kızılırmak arc, the main point is this region, but it is known that they sometimes drove their enemies to the Aegean Islands in the west, and that the Kizzuvatna region was their vassal in the south, and even advanced to Babylon. As a matter of fact, it is obvious that it also affects a wide geography in terms of culture and that they are also affected by the cultures of these regions. As a result of the interaction of culture and art, many cultural heritage products have emerged. Our work will be on the figurines that make up some of these works. The subject of our study will be the typological examination of the statues with human figures of the Hittite state, which has emerged until today, to understand the differences in depictions between gods and humans, and to reveal the similarities between the statue descriptions described in the Hittite cuneiform texts and the statues unearthed.
